Component status

14

Component status in a Design System refers to the current state or condition of a component within the UI library. It is essential for designers and developers to have visibility into the status of components to ensure accurate and up-to-date usage. The component status can indicate various aspects, such as whether a component is stable, in development, deprecated, or retired. This information helps teams make informed decisions when selecting components for their interfaces.

Stable components are reliable for production. Components in development are still progressing. Deprecated ones are available but not recommended. Retired components are unsupported and should be phased out. Clear and updated statuses enable informed decisions, consistency, and avoidance of outdated components. This ensures a cohesive and maintainable Design System.
